Hello! I voiced Kiki! Unfortunately hearing my own voice in this embarrasses me so much that I cannot play it! But having read the script and clicked around the game for as long as I could tolerate my own amateur voice acting, I can promise any passers by that it is a well-done little game. Despite all that she says or believes to the contrary, Mole is quite a skilled writer and her works are worth reading. Also, this one has voice acting! It's my voice acting and I don't know if it's good voice acting, but for a little game jam indie game? That's pretty cool!
Being a game jam game, it's also quite short, so if it seems at all interesting to you, I definitely recommend stopping by and giving it a play. Also, if you feel inclined afterwards, drop a comment! Indie devs could always use the love. (As a note for Mole specifically, it took me one year, but I made it in to leave one myself! Your work indeed deserves the love <3)
This is so cute and so sad. I love the Live 2D intergration and Kiki's character art. Also, in my head I choose to believe that Kiki calls Tashi because my heart needs the reassurance :P
Oh, gosh, I really loved this little story!! It also made my eyes feel very moist and my heart hurt a little... because I've had experiences exactly like this -- close online friendships where I began to feel very strong emotional connections to them, to the point where I wasn't quite sure what it was. Love? Something else? All I know is that they all left me feeling very heartbroken in the end, often for this same exact reason as Kiki experiences here, because she never did say anything. Or never tried following up. Because something always kept her from doing so.
....so... yeah, this hit me a lot and felt very true to life. The relationship between Kiki and Tashi is so cute ahhhh ππ I loved their back and forths. It felt like it could literally have been a convo out of some of my old LJ or AIM days. Especially how it all starts through fandom!! Pretty sure I've reached out to authors of my favorite fics in exactly the same way before GODDDD. And the way you set up the UI and everything is so good?? I love how we can see Kiki in the mirror to see her expressions, and the set-up with the computer screen is so cute and makes it feel even more immersive. Also the Live2D is so good??? Actually I think this might be the first time I've played a VN with Live2D!! So it was really neat to see. And I feel like it added a ton to just make it feel really engaging. Her sprite was very cute!!
Like Kiki herself, we're left wondering at the end where things could have gone... where things might still be able to go... which is really sweet. Makes me wonder if Kiki will end up trying to call Tashi. Though I also feel her -- I'm not sure I'd be courageous enough either. Especially once a little time has passed, making it feel even more awkward. In my mind, though, things might still work out for them... I think that would be really sweet π
At any rate, this was super cute, super feelsy, and definitely a close-to-home hit that's gonna stick with me for a while. Loved this a lot!! Thanks for sharing this little story π
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. πThe story was very much based on an amalgam of my own experiences, so I'm glad it found someone who would relate so deeply to it.
I'm also glad you liked the presentation! I definitely had fun with the GUI, and integrating Live2D into Ren'Py for the first time after it's been supported for so long has been an experience. I'm happy it all meshed well for you!
I, too, like to think things still work out for Kiki and Tashi in the end. π

Love how you staged the sprite! And the story is really relatable, and boy it smarts. Great job on this release!
Thank you! :D I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I definitely had fun with the sprite staging.

I, too, like to think she did eventually make that call.
